Lars Edvinsson
CSO and Founder
Professor Lars Edvinsson is one of the world’s most influential researchers in the fields of cerebral circulation and neurovascular physiology. He is internationally recognised for his pioneering work on vascular innervation, receptor regulation and the mechanisms that control blood flow in the brain. To a large extent, his research has shaped today’s understanding of the role of cerebral blood vessels in conditions such as stroke, migraine and other forms of primary headache.
Professor Edvinsson is the founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of Edvince, where his research has laid the foundations for the Company’s innovative drug platform. He is also the founder and director of the Glostrup Research Institute at Copenhagen University Hospital, Professor of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University and Senior Consultant at SUS University Hospital in Lund.
Lars Edvinsson’s efforts have been rewarded with several prestigious awards, including The Brain Prize 2021, which is awarded by the Lundbeck Foundation to researchers who have made crucial progress within neurology. Professor Edvinsson is the President of the International Headache Society, a board member of the European Headache Federation, and an honorary doctor at Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. He has also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Headache Society for his lifelong scientific contribution.
Professor Edvinsson provides Edvince with a unique combination of scientific excellence, clinical experience and innovation, making him a key figure in the Company’s strategic and research development.
Peter Selin
Chief Executive Officer
Peter Selin has more than 20 years of international experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on drug development, licensing and commercialization of specialty medicines. His background combines extensive expertise in business development, corporate finance and strategic partnerships, alongside operational leadership experience.
Peter Selin served as CEO of Novakand Pharma AB between 2023 and 2026, where he also held the role of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to this, he held several senior leadership positions across the industry, including Chief Business Officer at Vivesto AB, Vice President Business Operations at Inceptua Group and Vice President Corporate Development at Sobi. Earlier in his career, he worked as a management consultant at EY.
Throughout his career, Peter Selin has been involved in a large number of product licensing transactions and has led business development and partnership activities in both listed and international pharmaceutical companies. He holds a degree in Economics from Uppsala University.
Gerton Jönsson
Chief Financial Officer
Gerton Jönsson has over 20 years experience as an accounting consultant and has worked with both large international groups and smaller companies, both listed and unlisted. Gerton has extensive experience of the various tasks required of a finance manager.
Jacob Edvinsson
COO – GI & FI
Dr. Jacob Edvinsson is a licensed pharmacist and researcher at Lund University, working within the Department of Clinical Sciences, Section for Experimental Vascular Research. He holds a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Gothenburg (2018) and earned his PhD at the University of Copenhagen (2022).
Jacobs research focuses on mechanisms underlying stroke, migraine and cluster headache, with a particular focus on neurovascular regulation, receptor expression and intracerebral inflammatory processes. He has published numerous scientific articles in international journals within neuropharmacology and vascular biology, and is the editor (Junior Editorial Board) of The Journal of Headache and Pain. He has received several internationally recognised awards, including:

Giuseppe Nappi Cluster Headache Award, European Headache Federation (2024)
In addition to his academic activities, he has experience of corporate governance, including through involvement in the patient-oriented research company Algolos AB. In his Board work, Jacob provides scientific expertise in the fields of cerebrovascular disease, translational drug development and academic collaboration.
Alvar Grönberg
Project Manager
Alvar Grönberg holds a Doctor of Medical Science (Dr Med Sc) degree from Karolinska Institutet and a BSc from Uppsala University. He has extensive experience in preclinical development, translational research and program management within pharmaceutical R&D.
He most recently served as Senior Program Director/Project Manager at CombiGene AB. Prior to this, he was Director of Preclinical Development at NeuroVive AB/Abliva AB and Lipopeptide AB/Pergamum AB. Earlier in his career, he held senior scientific roles at Pharmacia AB/Pharmacia & Upjohn/Biovitrum, as well as research positions at Karolinska Institutet and the National Cancer Institute (USA).
Alvar has broad expertise in project management, including budget planning, development strategy, CRO/CDMO sourcing, and coordination of preclinical and clinical study planning. He has also been responsible for regulatory documentation for submissions. He is co-inventor on four patents.
Antonia Ekenberg
Office & Administrative Coordinator
Antonia Ekenberg has several years of experience in project management, administration and communication within growth-oriented and listed companies. She has worked with investor relations, corporate governance, website management and administrative support in both listed and pre-listed environments.
Prior to this, she worked within the e-commerce industry, where she was responsible for personnel administration, project coordination and communication with both management teams and customers. Antonia specializes in creating structure and ensuring efficient administrative processes in dynamic organisations.
Lisa Ullbors
Emelie Pitkänen Fungbrant is a qualified medical practitioner in Denmark and a PhD student in neurosurgery at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. She holds a medical degree from Lund University. and has subsequently completed her basic service (KBU) in the Danish healthcare system.
Alongside her clinical training. Emelie is involved in research with a particular focus on traumatic brain injury (TBI). As part of her PhD programme, she is involved in studies on biomarkers and clinicaloutcomes in the case of severe TBI, including in collaboration with the TBI Biobank at Rigshospitalet. She also has experience of preclinical research in cerebrovascular disease from Lund University.
Emelie Pitkänen Fungbrant has a combined clinical and academic profile, with a commitment to translational neuroscience and advanced patient-oriented research.
